Celebrating Plevins of Aston & Birmingham Heritage

St Matthew's had the privilege of visiting and participating in an event at the iconic Grade II* listed Aston Parish Church. The event was a showcase of the work of St Matthews and King Edwards VI Grammar School in Aston and the skills of those involved in this year's restoration of an important piece of local history.

    "The 11th September 2014 saw the public launch of the Plevins Project with the Lord Mayor of Birmingham in attendance."

    "The Plevins family were the wealthiest people in the parish during the 19th century."

  • The Clock Tower

    "The event celebrated the Church Tower (constructed 1480) major restoration scheme and the completion of the fabulous Plevins stained glass window that dates from 1869."
